I would have to say that the log cabin block is my all time favorite. Whether it's put together as feed sack furrows, barn raising, or courthouse steps it just says something of pioneer women to me. It brings to mind a woman sewing, by the light of oil lamps, small pieces of fabrics that she probably had used to make clothing for her family. I've been told that sewing red centers into the log cabin block represents the fire place, and yellow centers the sun, so when I put this log cabin block together using black geese, it's to represent geese flying over the cabin at night. I hope you have fun making Night Flight.
